Your wash day

2 steps selected

A starting sequence you can edit. Follow each product’s directions; a longer routine is not automatically better.

Swap a step before you add one

A clarifier takes the cleanser position on an occasional wash. A mask takes the conditioning position. For example, Briogeo directs its deep-conditioning mask to replace conditioner; Curlsmith says to choose its rinse-out conditioner or its mask for a wash.

Read the complete washing order or compare conditioner and mask use.

You do not need to know your porosity to start

Start with the steps you use and the directions on your bottles. Where you apply each product and how long it stays on are useful differences to compare. If you want to understand the label, read what hair porosity means.

To work out a step's cost, use “Calculate this product’s cost” beside that product in your routine. Enter your own price and dose there. Routine links contain only product choices and the settings above; they do not include personal notes or measurements.
